Les Petits Francophones is a non-profit French preschool with a 100% immersion program committed to the philosophy that young children best learn through play.
Our goal is to assist children in developing all of their potential so they can blossom socially, linguistically and physically. This, in turn, will give them the best opportunities to succeed in subsequent schooling and, more broadly, in life.
The school focuses particularly on teaching and mastering the French language. This program is primarily designed for French speaking children from the ages of 2.9 to 5 years old. (Two year old children must turn 3 by the end of December of each school year.) The entire curriculum is in French.
Our pedagogical approach is play-based. It is our belief that it is through play that children learn basic knowledge such as opposites, consequences, causality. Positive social behaviors such as sharing, respect, waiting one’s turn, and essential skills such as patience, concentration, and diligence are also learned through play. By harnessing the children’s love of play and desire to model and experiment, the teachers will guide and assist the children in their discovery of the world and the mastery of skills essential to their development.
The school is an equal opportunity school and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, scholarship, and other school administered programs. We strongly encourage members of minority groups to apply.
